Civic Ceremonies

Miss Independece

On September 4 all grades presented their candidate to miss Independence, they made propaganda. The election was made trough votes, the elecetion was on September 13. There was a winner for Middle School and another wineer for career.
For this girls had to made their ID card to simulate the real election process.

Civic Week

From September 12 to September 14 there were activities like: made civic altar, a traditional breakfast, the election of Miss Independence.

On September 14 there was a parade in which participated all girls form High School and some girls or Elementary School, the Scholar Band supported the activity, also there were the queens of Cultural Week (Miss Imo, Miss Sport, Miss Culture) and Misses Independence.

On September 27 Mater Orphanorum School celebrated our Virgin Orphan's Mother, the activties started since 5 a.m.

This year Fourth and Fifth accountant had to organize the prayer, the snack for people who got there early. Fourth bachelor made the procession, and all grades gave a gift to help people more needed.

Also there was a mass, sport games, and nuns gave all students an ice cream to celebrate Mater Orphanorum's Day.

Ending the year

The Scholar year is almost ending, in this last unit the students had several activities of different type. 

Seminar

On August 17 there was the Seminar of graduand of Bilingual Secretary, Office Secretary, Bachelor and Accountants. Some girls of Fifth Bilingual Secretary and Fifth Accountant was supporting the activity.

Good-bye Party

On August 22 there was the celebration for graduands, in this activities some videos were shown to remember the best moments of the groups, there was food, music, gifts for graduands.

Visit to Nursing Home

On August 23 Fourth and Fifth Bilingual Secretary visit the Nursing Home, they made some games, they shared with old ladies, the gave them a present, and a snack.

Teacher's Day

     On June 25 in Guatemala people celebrate Teacher's Day, in Mater Orphanorum School girls              celebrated to their teaches on June 21, they made dancings, another told a poem, others made an          imitiaton of some group, and gave to their teachers a delicious lunch. There was a time to share in      group.

Spiritual activity

         On June 15 there was Corpus Christi celebration, there were made some altars. There was one           altar for grade with a message and in every altar there was bread, wheat, wine, candle, incense.

         It was a special activity, girls presented their intentions for pray, and gave flowers for Jesus in              the chapel and sang catholic songs.

June's activities

          Before start June, Mater Orphanorum School finished its May's activities      with the closing of Mary's month, it was in the ground a pray, Secreatrie's          students gave a gift for elder people and flowers for Virgin.

Cultural week

June started in a good way, the cultural week, this week is specially for girl's activities as singing, dancing (regional), talents, and there was an election for queens as Miss IMO, Miss Sport, Miss culture, there was a candidate for each grade section and career, for this year Miss IMO and Miss Culture are from Sixth bilingual secretary.

There were competitions of chorus, regional dancings in both there was the participation of the guide teachers with girls. Also there were competitions of talent, How do you know about? A presentation of National Chorus and a play about Guatemala's Legend.

Marian Month

On May Mater Orphanorum School celebrated Hail Mary all month with different activites as pray rosary; learn about the differnt dedications to Mary, murals, processions, among others.

On May 2 the school had the visit of Rosary Virgin, girls pray the rosary and at the end they left a flower to the Virgin and some of them stayed a while to pray for their requests.

Mother's Day

On May 9 the school celebrated Mother's Day, girls made the invitations and flowers for mommies, The presentations was made by girls of Elementary School and High School.

There was a meal for mommies, also there was a raffle. 

On May 10 there weren't classes so girls could spend this special day with their mom, and the teachers that are mom could rest with their families.

On April 29 there was the Sport morning, girls made the ddecoration, planned games. There was a lot of different  kind of food. There was a disco. They were helping in Beauty salon. This activity was made with the purpose to help the different deeds that it has as nursery school, farm school, nursing home, boarding school, among others.
